Hello all... went to take some shots of fireworks earlier and thought i'll share them here...

All sorts taken at ISO 800, variable shutter speeds, aperture at approx 5.6...

this is one of my first shots.. there was loads of ppl and cars everywhere. The cars seemed to be there red light or not coz i think all they wanted to was be able to watch the fireworks. It's strange to see huge columns of cars along the main road, not moving, yet contentedly so. I'm so used to seeing cars performing intricate maneuvers just for that extra inch ahead in a jam. By the time i got to where i am, i had already given up hope in finding the perfect view. Judging by the situation on 9th Aug, it wasn't going to happen. Approx 2130 HRS. As you can see the 2 trees meant that i was going to get more leaves than lights, therefore i grabbed my tripod and skirted around the traffic and ended up on the other side of the road, closer to the action, and minus the trees.

I lost the trees, but i got a fence 1 and a half times my height. At my tripod's full extension, it was about halfway up the fence, and fireworks were blasting away, so i took the rest of the shots unaided. As a result only about 5% of the shots were actually lookable... Not that they are in perfect focus, just not ridiculously blurred. and of course, this are the best of the lot..

This shot is rather striking.. becoz of the various colours captured. Its not in focus, but it still holds some interest.












My personal favourite shot, because of all the shots it holds the greatest variety of fireworks, and in relative clarity.











Nearing the end, fireworks released over a wide area so i tried to capture as much as i can without including the darn fence just below the frame.









Blurred also, just to show another variety of fireworks.
